"Preventing Workplace Violence"
Learners: All staff at all levels within a large pension fund organization of 400 employees
Problem: As part of onboarding as well as ongoing compliance training, I was tasked with revamping the organization's outdated Workplace Violence Prevention training.
Solution: Create a computer-based training (CBT) for employees that mirrors the in-person offering of the same subject matter. This project required significant collaboration with subject matter experts, including supervisors/managers, Human Resources, DEI, Employee Relations, and labor union representatives in order to fully understand the organization's specific policies and procedures around identifying and responding to potential and actual threats of workplace violence, as well as to ensure the content and structure of training met DEI and agency standards. Additionally, this project required independent research on state-specific laws, as well as techniques for handling and de-escalating various scenarios.

"Identifying and Overcoming Implicit Bias: Patient-Doctor Interaction"
Learners: Doctors, Nurses, Social Workers in all fields of specialty in the healthcare field
Problem: Data obtained from the National Library of Medicine shows that healthcare professionals exhibit as much implicit bias as the wider population. These biases contribute directly and indirectly to poorer health outcomes for Black, Latine, and Indigenous populations.
Solution: Create a scenario-based course which allows learners to make decisions (as a medical provider) which have an impact on the patient. Decisions may help learners to recognize implicit biases which may impact the quality of care they deliver to communities of color.

"Builds Trust, Breaks Trust"
Learners: Coaches, supervisors/managers,  social workers, counselors, human service practitioners
Problem: Trust is a key component in building and maintaining human relationships. This truth extends to the personal, as well as professional spheres. Though built over time, trust can be broken with a simple, absent-minded statement. It is important that individuals, and especially coaches and those who work closely with others, develop an awareness of their words and actions, which undermine trust and compromise their ability to establish a foundation from which rapport can be built.
Solution: I aimed to create an engaging and educational experience with the "Builds Trust, Breaks Trust" quiz. With a focus on coaching relationships, the "Builds Trust, Breaks Trust" quiz equips learners with the essential skill of identifying coaching statements and actions that either build or break trust. By presenting learners with a series of statements and coaching actions, they are challenged to discern whether each one fosters trust or undermines it. Through this interactive exercise, learners not only gain a deeper understanding of the importance of trust in coaching, but they also develop the ability to recognize the specific behaviors and communication patterns that contribute to building or breaking trust. This quiz serves as a valuable tool for learners to enhance their coaching skills, strengthen relationships, and ultimately foster a culture of trust in their professional interactions.
